Tata Rectangular Hollow Sections

Profile : With high torsional rigidity and compressive strength, these hollow sections are comparably more efficient than conventional steel sections. The excellent distribution of material around the axis of the square and rectangular steel hollow sections allows for remarkable strength qualities and thus offers decisive advantages in its applications. The smooth and uniform profile of the sections minimizes corrosion and facilitates easy, onsite fabrication to significantly enhance the aesthetics of structures. A higher strength to weight ratio credits these sections with nearly 20% reduction in the use of steel.

Scope : The versatility of these sections allows for a wide range of applications as industrial sheds and exhibition stalls to space frames and sign supporting structures. Profile : These hollow sections are manufactured in the high frequency induction welding (HFIW) mill, which has a capacity of one lakh tones per annum. The mill can make these coated circular sections to IS: 1161.

Scope : They are highly suitable for construction and mechanical applications, where controlled specifications and associated design regulations apply.

Profile : These hollow sections have been developed in order to achieve superior atmospheric corrosion resistance. This has been achieved by suitably designing the chemistry, steel making and steel hollow sections making process parameters. One of the most significant advantages of using this hollow section is that it protects structures against corrosion by about 60% more than other conventional steel sections.

Scope : These hollow sections are primarily used in coastal structures, harbour structures, open structures without sheeting cover and in structures exposed to chemical fumes that lead to faster corrosion. They are also the best during earthquakes.
